Obituary of Mary Yannotta
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary was born in a town in Italy, S. Agata dei Goti, Benevento, Naples. She was the youngest of 5 children raised in a devout Catholic and loving family.
Mary met her husband, John in 1958 and were married 45 days later. They had 2 children, Carmen and Joanne. Although John succumbed to cancer in 1976, they had a wonderful 18 years of marriage together. After his death, Mary devoted her life to her daughters, other family members and her friends. Her passions besides caring for her family were cooking, and baking. She had a green thumb to her house plants, and the beautiful flowers and vegetables she planted in her garden. During the summer before going in the house, she would say good night to her garden and say see you tomorrow if God wants (“si Dio vuole.”)
Her only time of rest was in the afternoon watching her favorite soap operas. Years back, it was Love is a Many Splendored Thing, As the World Turns and the Guiding Light. Then as these faded away, it was the Young and the Restless and the Bold and the Beautiful!
Mary touched many lives. She had a warm, caring and loving way about herself. She was loved and admired by all she met. She will be greatly missed but will forever remain in all our wonderful memories and in our hearts.
May our Blessed Mother Mary and Jesus welcome her into eternal life.
Rest in Peace our beloved Mom.
