Obituary of Georgette M Eddeh

Please share a memory of Georgette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Georgette M. Eddeh January 1,1935 - July 22, 2024 Georgette M. Eddeh, a.k.a. Mom, Teta, Gigi, Georgie Girl, Mayor of The Normandy, passed away on July 22, 2024 after a valiant battle against Diabetes and Heart Disease. Why so many nicknames? It is because she was so dear to so many; that she meant different things to all who knew and loved her. She was crowned by friends and family with these terms of endearment to personalize each of her dearest loved one’s special relationships with this elegant, beautiful, wise, giving, caring, intelligent, forceful, woman. Mother to five daughters: Maha married to Paul Challita, Mouna (deceased), Lina married to Thomas Holifield, Lamia, Nada married to Joe Rodriguez, who share all of her best traits. Grandmother to 12 grandchildren and Great-Grandmother to 4. Friend to all who reside in Forest Hills; even those she never met. Bravely, the family moved from Lebanon to Dayton, Ohio accommodating her husband’s work. After his untimely passing, Georgette and her daughters opened a Lebanese restaurant in Dayton in order to support the family. Those who have eaten Georgette’s (and her daughters’) culinary treats, can only imagine how successful the business was. Eventually moving to Forest Hills, NY she continued to better the lives of those in her community. She befriended all whom she encountered whether child or adult. Georgette was the most unique and special woman, making friends and winning hearts with whomever she came in contact with. A vibrant and fun-loving spirit, she welcomed friends and neighbors into her home with open arms and graciously offered her superb cooking. Renowned for her Lebanese delicacies, including hummus, grape leaves, and baba ghanoush, she delighted in sharing homemade treats, often bringing plates and containers to neighbors homes. Georgette's legacy of love, generosity, sincerity and culinary excellence will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She left her stamp on each of her dear ones and we will continue living in the manner she taught us to live. We are thankful for her wisdom and for the high standards she expected from herself and others. Georgette will be greatly honored and missed, but most importantly, she will be remembered and loved by those fortunate enough to be loved by her.
