She was a parishioner of St. Cecilia's parish. Anna moved to Forest Hills with her family in 1953 and enjoyed the neighborhood's beauty and lifelong friends. She met the love of her life, Jerry D'Auria, at a party in 1956 and they were married at Our Lady of Mercy Church in 1957. They moved to Manse Street in 1959, where they raised their three children, Thomas, Joseph and Patricia. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always put her family first. She was a talented cook, baker and seamstress, who loved to share her skills and recipes with her loved ones. Anna worked at McRory's in the buyers department in Manhattan before she had her children. She went back to work at Queensboro Community College in May 1979, where she was a valued employee. She retired in 2001 and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She faced many challenges in her life, including the loss of her husband Jerry in August 1979 and a liver transplant in April 1998, but she never lost her faith, courage and optimism. She was blessed with 26 additional years of life. Anna is survived by her three children, Thomas, Joseph and Patricia (Steven); her four grandchildren, Candice (Jay), Meaghan (Jake), Christopher (Chelsey) and Kevin (Monica); and her six great-grandchildren, KJ, JJ, Evan, Quinn, Cayden and Teddy. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Forest Hills on August 24, 2024 at 9:45 a.m., followed by a burial at St. John's Cemetery. Anna will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a beautiful soul who touched many lives with her kindness, generosity and grace.
