Obituary of Jesse Torres

On Tuesday, February 18th, 2020, Jesse Torres, a loving husband, and father passed away at age 40 at Mount Sinai Hospital, Manhattan, surrounded by family. Jesse was born on September 30th, 1979, in Astoria to Norma Noemi and Jose Luis. He graduated from Bryant High School in 1997 and received a Business Degree, ABA, from Kingsborough Community College. He went on to work as a jeweler for Sumer Gold. Jesse was a loyal employee and practiced his craft there for 23 years. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed the sun and an ocean view. He was an avid reader and was expressly passionate about his favorite team, the New York Giants. Jesse was known for his devotion to his family and his generous and gentle spirit. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose (2002) and his two kind-hearted grandmothers, Josefina (1999) and Carmen Maria (2014). He is survived by his daughter, Noemi, his wife, Alexandra, his mother, Norma; his loving aunt, Neida (godmother), and his cousins Cathy, Ashley, and Jaime. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25th at Glascott Funeral Home: 102-03 Metropolitan Ave Forest Hills, New York 11375.
