JOBINA FEIJOO DE AGUILAR November 6, 1930 – May 3, 2021 Jobina Feijoo de Aguilar passed away at home on May 3, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 6, 1930 in Calera Grande, Piñas-El Oro, Ecuador. Her given name was Maria Jobina Feijoo Romero. She met Jose David Aguilar at a party in her hometown, and they were happily married for 72 years. She was 90 years old when the Lord called her to her forever home. She is survived by her husband and six of her seven children: Rosa Escamilla (Luis +), Irma Aboras (Said +), Manuel Aguilar (Gisella), Victor Aguilar (Mirca), Fanny Zamora (Domingo), and Maria Edith Vazquez (Alvaro); seventeen grandchildren: Judith Feijoo-Esquivel (Fred), Marcia Bygrave (Dwight), Carlos Geovanny Feijoo (Evelisse), Yasmany Tinoco (Maria Elisa), Angelica Escamilla, Ahmed Aboras (Thander), Maisa Aboras, Amira Aboras, Giselle Aguilar, Jessenia Aguilar-Bell (Ory), Lizbeth Aguilar, Monica Aguilar, Gabriel Zamora, Carolina Zamora, Javier Zamora, Peter Vazquez, and Kayla Vazquez; and twelve great-grandchildren: Giabela, Abdiel, Sebastian, David, Sarah, Andre, Emily, Lea, Joshua, Olympia, Leonidas, and Osias. Maria Jobina migrated to the United States in 1980 where she lived ever since with her husband and her seven children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were all born in the U.S., and she lovingly helped raise many of them. Her passions were her family, spinning cotton, embroidery, and knitting. Her most cherished moments were enjoyed in the company of her extended family, whether it was making tamales, homemade bread, or celebrating holidays together. To Maria’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was always known as Jovita. Jovita will be remembered by her family, friends, and even strangers for her generosity,kindness, love, and compassion. The first wake is scheduled in New York City on Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Glascott Funeral Home located at 102-03 Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills, NY 11375. Afterward, her children are taking Jovita back to her homeland. A second wake is scheduled in Piñas, Ecuador, at the Professional Drivers’ Union Hall. Her final resting place will be the Aguilar-Feijoo family mausoleum located at the Municipal Cemetery of Piñas, where she will be joining her late son, Fulvio Aguilar (1993).
