Aunt Yvette was such a blessing to everyone that had the pleasure of coming into contact with her. Growing up, we made the best memories every summer when she would fly down to stay with us for the month. Even into our adulthood, she still came down to visit when she could. And when we started having our own children, they quickly grew to love her as much as we did! Carson, Grace, and Joy called her “YaYa,” and she ate it up! Some of my most fondest memories as a child was playing her favorite card game, War, with her. I’m so thankful that my son, Carson, had the same opportunity to play her favorite game with her the last time she visited. I know he will also always cherish that memory.
Aunt Yvette was always down for an adventure. No matter how big or smaller an outing may have seemed, she was always the first in line and ready to go! She brought the fun with her everywhere she went. Some of her favorite ways to pass time was shopping at thrift stores, soaking in the rays at the beach, going for a walk, and every morning we would wake up to find that she had already been working in the yard for quite a while. One of her greatest joys in life was to make others smile. When she filled the cups of those around her, it also filled her’s too. Her love for the Lord overflowed in this very beautiful way. She had a servants heart and lived to bless those around her. And whenever one of us was needing a word of encouragement, she was the first one to remind us of Jesus’ love, provision, and grace. ❤️
Aunt Yvette, you will always hold a special place in my heart that no one else can fill. You made such an impact on this world, and you will forever be dearly missed.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Yvette?
A: Aunt Yvette (my best friend Wendy Larson’s aunt) was such a loving aunt with creative energy never ending! Every time she’d come to Navarre to visit I’d know she was in town because I’d see her outside working on some type of project made from nature, or walking the kids down the street to The “corner store.” (Dollar General) She loved participating in Navarrre Assembly of God’s VBS if she happened to be in town during that time! We went as a large group to pick blueberries once (2016) and she always knew how to show love in her unique ways. We will miss you. Thank you Aunt Yvette for “adopting” our sons as your little nephews too.

As young children, Yvette, myself and other cousins would play cards with our Aunt Anita. One favorite card game was "Knuckles". I remember Yvette and I would get our knuckles smacked by Aunt Anita. We would laugh and have fun.
