Obituary of Yvette Charest
Please share a memory of Yvette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Yvette was born and raised in Ozone Park, NY. Throughout her life, she was a devout Catholic. She and her parents were active parishioners at St. Mary Gate of Heaven Parish.
Yvette had many hobbies. She loved to play solitaire, listen to soft and Gospel music. She was the neighborhood sweeper. She made sure that there was no trash in front of the neighbors' homes. When it snowed, she was in her best glory! She would be out there shoveling whether there was an inch or a foot of snow. When she was done shoveling, the end result would be this magnificent snowman made with pride and joy!
When all the Holidays came around, she decorated the outside of her house that all stopped by to admire - starting with Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and ending with her best decor for Christmas!
She loved to dress up in costume for Halloween and distribute the Halloween goodies every year. The trick or treaters were so excited, they would take pictures with her in front of her decorated garden.
Yvette is predeceased by her parents, Yvonne and Wilfrid, her 2 brothers, Bob and Roger. She leaves behind her niece Wendy, 3 great nieces and nephew and her latest joy - 2 great, great nieces that referred to her as "YaYa"! As well as many cousins, especially, Lorraine and Jackie from Queens and Lillian and Claudette from Massachusetts. Her best friend, Mary and her 2 daughters Carmen and Joanne who were there for her everyday and took care of her until the very end.
She WAS loved by All and will be greatly missed.
May our Blessed Mother Mary and her son, our Lord Jesus Christ protect and guide her as she enters eternal peace. Rest in Peace our beloved Yvette.
